MADISON COUNTY MERCANTILE

Roseman Covered Bridge

The Roseman is one of Madison County's six remaining covered bridges. Initially completed in 1883, the structure was restored in 1991-92 at a cost of $152,515. A $40,000 state grant was used to help pay for the renovation, made by the Ames-based North Iowa Contractors.

All covered bridge pictures and information are taken from postcards available for sale at the Madison County Mercantile. Postcards distributed by Gene Crawford Photography, Winterset, Iowa, 50273
